Johanna is a divorced mother of three who has worked as a cook for a long time. When canteen work is automated, she is left without a job. Her children suggest an assessment: a brain scan that measures a person's natural aptitudes and strengthens them.

Johanna has an exceptional sense of smell, and she becomes an ore prospector who sniffs the forests for nickel. The new job takes her out into nature, which she loves, but the place she found becomes a mine.

The film is about work, identity and automation: what a person is left with when a machine does their job, and what they are willing to give up to find a new place.
